Koranganatha Temple, Srinivasanallur, Trichy TN

The temple was constructed by the Medieval Cholas and is dedicated to the god Ranganatha.

It is a stunningly beautiful piece of early Chola architecture. Very intricately carved sculptures proclaim the rich artistic skills of the period. The vimana of the temple is unique with a two tier structure and a smaller central third tier with a square dome and a finial. Inscriptions of Parantaka Cholan dating 935 – 950 CE and further more are found on the walls of this temple.

Hazara Rama Temple, Hampi.
The term 'Hazara Rama' literally means a thousand Rama and refers to the multitude of relics depicting the reigning deity of the temple.
The walls of the temple carry the story of Ramayana carved on stone. The outer walls of the temple are decorated with bas-relics of Rama and Krishna.

Magical, mystical Hampi!

Perhaps it is the surreal boulder strewn landscape, interspersed by bright emerald paddy fields, perhaps it is the amazing ruins of temples, or the magical stories of myths and legends and gods and goddesses or the surrounding countryside that is almost frozen in time. Perhaps it’s a combination of all these things that make Hampi so special.

A beautiful view from Matanga hills.
